Happy’s 4th Birthday

Hi friends!

Last Wednesday, January 26th, was my baby Happy’s 4th birthday! I cannot believe she is already 4 years old, that blows my mind! My little puppy is growing up!

When I told my roommates and friends about this upcoming birthday they all said “we have to throw her a party!”, so that’s what we did!

It was such a great night!

I had never thrown a puppy birthday party before, but since I am a crazy dog mom I got some decorations, balloons, and baked a lemon raspberry cake (for human consumption only since I have a dog with ulcerative colitis…) which turned out amazing, if do say so myself, haha.  There were only a few of us there to celebrate but I think Happy felt well and truly loved and adored on her special day!

She would not let go of her new toys, haha!
Getting all the love
So loved by everyone she meets!

Happy is such a sweet, friendly, and lovable dog. I am so glad that even though we do not live close to family we have created our own little family here. And it warms my heart to see how much my friends and roommates love on her because she absolutely deserves it. Everyone even got her a gift which was so sweet (and totally unnecessary but I have great and kind friends) and she got some extra treats since I couldn’t bake her her own cake.

The cake came out so pretty and really tasty, if I do say so myself

It’s weird how time works, because on one hand I feel like time has flown and I can’t believe that the little puppy I brought home is already 4. But on the other hand, I really have a hard time remembering and picturing what my life was like before her, it feels strange that she has not always been a part of my life.

Oh Happy Day!

It was the most successful doggy party (not that I have much to compare it with, haha) and I think we all had a blast. It hit me while we were all sitting together, just talking about nothing and everything as the birthday playlist I had put together kept glitching on and off thanks to the bad Bluetooth connection, how happy I was. This night was truly a moment of pure and utter bliss and happiness. I was not worrying about anything, thinking about what anyone was thinking about me, or overanalyzing and thinking ten steps ahead like I usually do. I was just existing in the moment, enjoying the company of my friends and adoring my best companion on her special day. I felt absolutely no anxiety about anything whatsoever, and it is so important to recognize who you are with when you feel like that, appreciate those moments and absolutely cherish them.

So incredibly happy (even though my wrist almost snapped in half from the weight of the cake, haha)

This was one of those night that will go down as one of the best ones I’ll remember forever. And I am so grateful to the people who took the time to celebrate the love of my life on her birthday with me!

Until next time!
